CIT3190PROJECT WORKBOOK

Each team will maintain a Project Workbook, which will form part of the assessable items. The workbook should include records of all group meetings and task assignments, forms for configuration management and version control, test results, and other project-related documentation.

The Project Workbook should document the progress of the project over time, documenting all tasks undertaken, the effort expended on each task, individual responsibilities for tasks, all tracking reports related to the Project Development Plan, and all decisions affecting the scope and conduct of the project. To a considerable extent, then, the workbook follows on from the Project Development Plan, and shows how the plan has been followed and what modifications have been necessary over the course of the project.

---------------------------------------

It is expected, then, that the Project Workbook will be far more than just a record of team and client meetings. It should include:

  • A copy of the task list and assignments from the original project plan.
  • A record of task completion, and of all modifications to the task list.
  • Records of review of all project deliverables, following the agreed procedures.
  • The test log, documenting test cases conducted during development.
  • All problem and issue reports raised during the project, with details of problem resolution.
  • Details of proposed and approved changes to project scope and conduct.
  • Any measures recorded during the project.
  • Records of team meetings, including client and supervisor meetings.
  • Copies of any correspondence relating to the scope and conduct of the project.
The Project Workbook should be consistent with the Assessor's knowledge of progress. It is expected that all of the records will be consistent and will be traceable where relevant to the appropriate deliverable documents.

It is expected that the Project Workbook will be in the form of a loose leaf binder, allowing the easy incorporation of material. A master index should be established and maintained through-out the duration of the project. Presentation is not important, though it is expected that all items will be legible and reasonably grammatical.

The detailed format and contents of the Project Workbook should be documented in the Project Development Plan
