Caves of the Wumpus

A strange mist rises to envelope you completely. The mist is very thick and impossible to see through. A strong wrenching sensation grips you and you feel your insides being tried into knots...

Just as suddenly as the feeling came it vanashes, and the surrounding mist clears to reveal...

13 : Muddy Cave

You just do not know what holds this cave together. The ceiling, walls, and floor of this cave seem to consist of a oozing, dripping, sticky, smelly black mud. It seems to creep up your boots and each step is an effort to extract your feet from the mud.

Across the muddy floor you see the boot tracks of other adventurers, the clawed track of a very large beast and numerous small holes of some very large insect, all crossing and weaving from passage to passage.

You hear a squeeking....

Other than that, the torch in your left hand is burning very brightly. In fact, it seems to be a completely new torch and likely to continue to burn strongly for a least a couple of hours.

You hear a distant bell toll, probably notifing the wumpus somewhere nearby of ``dinner''. You better find that exit quickly.

You are in cave 13: ``Muddy Cave'', and you are being hunted by the wumpus. Three passages are clearly signed with their destination.
